ABOUT KIRK
Hey, it's Kirk! I'm a 20 year old business owner/entrepreneur from Oklahoma. I was born and raised on a farm, and was fortunate enough to have travelled much of the world when I was younger because I would go with my dad on cattle hauling trips quite often. So I've always been cultured.
I've always been intrigued with systems… creating them, managing them, and watching them work. Eventually that led me to the world of business.
When I was 16 I started my first job. I started working at a local supermarket as a stocker for the dairy section. I did it for one week, got my paycheck, and was incredibly disappointed with the results. The day I got my first paycheck was the day I quit that job. I decided to start something on my own
I began buying jewelry online from overseas for $0.45 or so and flipping them on an app called Mercari for $60+. It was an awesome little side hustle for me. It put a little money in my pocket and gave me a taste of what it's like to be an entrepreneur. I didn't know much about business at the time, I just knew I was in love.
From then until I was 18 I started many online side hustles. In the summer of 2020 I started a business with my brother (Brandon Duke), and was the first venture for me to generate $100,000. 2 years later we're both still in the process of scaling that business, and I'm in the process of relaunching my lifestyle streetwear brand, FLYHOUSE.
I've been investing in the stock market and have been educating myself on stocks, real estate, and how money works for around 2 years. I've read many books regarding those topics (listed on the home page), watched countless hours of YouTube, read thousands of articles, and have years of real world experience with all of those things, including sales and marketing.
Part of what I do for a living (as the owner of 2 businesses) is walking through the door of a place I've never been, and selling my products to a complete stranger, face to face. It's the physical version of “Cold Calling”. This is required me to really develop my sales/social skills, which is something I'm quite grateful for as it has benefited me a lot.
I've also had to teach myself (along with my brother), everything I need to know about finance, marketing, product development, taxes, creating an LLC, business structure, building websites, social media content creation, etc. So I feel obligated to share some of this knowledge with other people my age, because the system has completely failed to teach us ANYTHING important about the real world other than selling us on the idea of college.
If you want to stand out and have actually valuable skills in 2022, you have to educate yourself. Now that there are more people in the world with a degree than spots available for those people, the value of having a degree (especially in the world of business), is much less than it was 25 years ago. Not to mention the radical increase in the average cost to obtain that degree versus the potential reward for having it.
So all of these factors is what ultimately led up to me creating this community we now call ‘Money Talks’. It started out as an audience made up of my friends and people I knew from my area, to people I've never even met. Things have gotten to the point that I get asked frequently throughout the day about stocks, investing, business, weight loss, and personal development through social media (Snapchat, Instagram) that I decided to organize all of the information I am already giving out into one place. A place that is accessible to the public 24/7. To those looking to educate themselves and expand their knowledge of these concepts. The difference is, I'm not charging $100K. Most of the information on this site is completely free, with the addition of a few cool (but totally affordable) products like E-Books written by me, other books I personally recommend, and merch.
Part of my motivation for money and power is to be able to help educate and guide people who choose the entrepreneurial path in life based on what I’ve learned from personal experience and all of the wisdom and perspective I’ve collected from all of the books I’ve read, videos I’ve watched, as well as interviews and podcasts I’ve listened to, all written/created by people smarter than me.
My goal is the change the world.
